Lugoj, organizer of The International Theatre Festival

Since 1992, Lugoj municipality and the local theatre organize the only amateur theatre contest-festival with international participation from Romania.
Lugoj was honoured to host this artistical event due to its theatral tradition for over 160 years. It also counted the experience in organizing festivals and the excellent technical conditions in making the dramatic shows. |

The effect of such an international cultural-artistic event proved to be extremely favourable for the protagonists of this kind of theatre. Our artistical challenge started in 1992 materialized in six editions, over 90 shows, more than 2500 artistic guests from Germany, Greece, Denmark, South Korea, France, Italy, Moldavia, Serbia, Hungary and Romania. During the Festival days these artists made exchange of ideas, of interpretation manners and repertorial options, form friendships and initiate professional and artistic collaborations.
